Now that the Internet is having to handle more and more video streams, the ongoing popularity of social networking, growing use of the mobile Internet and prospects associated with the Internet of things… a great many questions are being asked about the Web’s economics.

This year’s DigiWorld Summit will provide an opportunity to discuss the following points:

New consumer behaviour: what are the top players' business models? …
The Web's ability to handle growing traffic and increasingly diverse applications: Who is investing in what? Which players are best prepared for cloud architecture?
What role does the Web play in public policies: What is the status of national broadband and ultra-fast broadband schemes? Is there such a thing as a European approach to Net neutrality?

After having honoured Japan, South Korea, India, China and the United States, IDATE’s Summit will focus this year on the Internet’s role in Europe’s forward-looking strategies, and Europe’s role in the Internet of the future.

As in previous year, IDATE consultants will introduce the sessions and seminars with their analysis of markets and player strategies. These analyses will be expanded upon and discussed by some 100 top-flight speakers from around the globe (industry heads, public authorities and academics).
